The medicinal product Dermocort is applied topically in inflammations of the skin of various origins, primarily of allergic origin, of medium intensity, which react to glucocorticoids. Dermocort is used topically for the following indications:
atopic dermatitis;
allergic contact dermatitis;
reactions following insect bites or stings (such as itching and irritation).
in patients with allergy (hypersensitivity) to hydrocortisone, other corticosteroids or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1;
in bacterial, viral or fungal infections;
in common acne;
in rosacea;
in skin atrophy;
in neoplasms and precancerous conditions of the skin;
in perioral dermatitis;
in open wounds and damaged skin;
in concomitant systemic mycosis;
in tuberculous skin lesions;
after protective vaccination;
in children under 12 years of age.
If there is no improvement after 7 days of use of the medicinal product, the patient should contact their doctor.
The medicinal product is intended for cutaneous use only.
Do not apply on healthy skin.
Protect eyes from spray.
Do not inhale the sprayed substance.
Avoid contact of the medicinal product with eyes and mucous membranes.
Do not apply to large areas of skin without first consulting a physician.
Women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding should not use the medicinal product without consulting their doctor.
Due to the fact that corticosteroids are absorbed through the skin, there is a risk of systemic side effects of hydrocortisone, characteristic of corticosteroids, including inhibition of adrenal cortex function, when using the medicinal product. Therefore, the use of Dermocort on large areas of skin, wounds, damaged skin, use in high doses, as well as long-term treatment should be avoided.
Do not use long-term in patients with diabetes.
In case of skin infection at the treated site, additional antibacterial or antifungal treatment should be applied. If symptoms of infection persist, discontinue use of the medicinal product until the infection is cured.
Avoid use of the medicinal product on the eyelids or on the skin near the eyelids due to risk of glaucoma or cataracts. Patients with glaucoma or cataracts may experience worsening of symptoms.
ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS 12 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER
Diseased areas on the skin should be sprayed with a jet of suspension for 1 to 3 seconds, holding the container vertically with the spray head upwards at a distance of 15 to 20 cm.
Usually the medicinal product is applied 2 times a day at equal intervals.
Extremely flammable aerosol. Do not spray on an open flame or other source of ignition.
Caution: Keep eyes away from spray.
Do not inhale spray.
Shake the container vigorously several times before each use.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after each application.
CHILDREN
Do not use in children under 12 years of age (see section 4.3).
There is a risk of impaired growth and development in children.
DURATION OF TREATMENT
If there is no improvement after 7 days of treatment or if the patient feels worse, the medicinal product should be discontinued.
